Soil Tests – Why You Need One

Obtaining a soil test is one of the first things required before building a new home. This process involves taking a series of soil samples from your block of land before sending it to a lab to be analysed. The soil will be classified based on how ‘reactive’ it is, and will give an indication on how susceptible the site is to surface movement. This classification then allows us to determine the appropriate site preparation and type of concrete footings required for your home. A site that contains more reactive clay content usually costs more to build on than a stable classification, so it is important to establish this before going too far down the line!

Our expert sales team usually coordinate soil tests throughout the design stages of building, so you can rely on Modular WA to ensure you end up with a home that is going to stand the test of time.
