DESIGN TRENDS: Earth, wood & stone.

We often see trends in interior design shift every few years or so, but one thing tends to remain constant – neutrals are always in. They’re safe. They’re adaptable. Most importantly, they age well. While the last few years has seen a leaning towards cool neutrals; charcoals, greys, whites; we’re seeing more and more people gravitate to the warmer palettes of creams and beiges. Cool neutrals tend to lend themselves more to the industrialist and ultramodern stylings. Warmer colours on the other hand are perfect for the modern-nordic aesthetic or the increasingly popular mid-century revival. Wood and stone in earthy tones are also making a re-emergence.

While cool-tones tend to impart an air of clean-cut luxury, warm tones are more inclined to lend themselves to making a space feel “homely” and often feature more natural, earthy textures such as wood and rattan instead of concrete and steel. In the pandemic age, it’s no surprise trends have shifted towards the comfort of warm aesthetics as we spend more time actually living in our living spaces now than ever before.

At our main office we have a fully equipped Prestart display where you can view a range of different internal finishing options for your home. We have a mix of modern neutral colour schemes to assist the process. Want to see more, or get a little more creative? No problem. From bright pops of colour, to gothic-inspired interiors – we’ve done it all, and we can help you design the home of your dreams.
